the Triple Door is hosting a mini-festival filled with it. Nik's
post has all the info on who's playing (including, but not limited to a
number of local NGD favs like Jetman
Jet Team, Midday Veil, Ecstatic Cosmic Union, and Brain Fruit), but at the
very least you should check out the free Musicquarium shows. Big name national
acts this week include the satiristic heavy metal antics of GWAR!!!!!!,
proto-goth band Christian Death, Disclosure, Delorean, and Fucked Up (FYI,
great band, but not always a great show)...but as always the local scene has
ample opportunities as well. Super excited for Tjutjuna, with Geist &
the Sacred Ensemble, and Kingdom of the Holy Sun at Chop Suey on Wednesday.
KOHS just released a couple of new psych tracks on his BC and they are pretty
freakin good. There's a benefit for the Comet employees in distress over at the
Highline the same night with some nice local hardcore; a pretty stellar
experimental electronica show the following evening at Chapel Performance Space
at Good Shepherd Center; and of course, Friday night at Heartland one of my
favorite local alt rock groups, Seacats, are releasing their new record, so
