Seriously, if that doesn't sell you on going to the Crocodile tonight I don't know what will. Other shows of note: Arizona's Dogbreth are coming to Heartland on Monday, Vibragun are finally releasing their debut record at Chop Suey on Friday, and Secret Colors is making another appearance at Cairo in support of his latest release, Days Off, which was featured on our best of local releases for June post. There are a couple of good hardcore shows this week as well, but the clear favorite is Deafheaven. The band has earned numerous critical accolades for their refusal to limit themselves to traditional metal and hardcore aesthetics, and on their latest record, Sunbather, they borrow from a spectrum of other genres including post-rock and shoegaze to create a truly unique sound. The runner up, which is still pretty freakin good, would be Gladiator Eats Fire with Itto and You May Die In The Desert at Black Lodge on Thursday. Finally, don't forget to check out Subpop's Silver Jubilee megashow next Saturday. I'm not a fan of everything they put out, but it's a free opportunity to see Pissed Jeans, Built to Spill, King Tuff and METZ. All this and more below. Have a great week everyone!
