Hey everyone. Summer is definitely upon us and the city is awash with good music. Tonight you should probably be heading out to see the CTPAK showcase + Love Cop at ETG. Justin Timbreline, the architect behind May'sexcellent Ass To Shake Your Music Tomix, will be making an appearance as well as Bardo:Basho and Children of Kids. The 18th marks your only chance to see The Postal Service in their original glory in Washington, but other options include Master Musicians of Bukkake with Midday Veil and Panabrite, David Byrne with St. Vincent, Snowdrift with The Soft Hills and Hibou, and NM's Reighnbeau with Kevin Greenspon (who also runs the excellent Bridgetown Records) and Warm Soda (the new endeavor of Bare Wires' Matthew Melton). Peter Murphy is coming to the Showbox on Friday night...I'm a little bit skeptical of hearing him perform a Bauhaus set without the rest of Bauhaus, but there you go. Finally, some good hardcore and punk also happening this week: Wimps will be at Cairo Seattle with Dude York and The Narx next Saturday, Trash Talk are coming to Neumos on Thursday; and the Black Lodge is hosting Iron Lung on Tuesday, as well as a Skrot Up records showcase on Saturday (the Danish label just re-released the debut by Seattle's Dreamsalon).
