Still looking for something to do on Valentine's Day? Here are a few options to consider:
1. Neumos is hosting its 8th annual Dancing on the Valentine: A Cure for Leukemia, a night of Cure covers by local bands. Click the link for more info on who's playing.
2. Brooklyn's Black Marble are playing at Chop Suey with local favorites Stephanie, Tokyoidaho, and more. BM's record, A Different Arrangement,
came out last year and anyone with any affinity for the sorts of
cold, minimalist synths that predominated the 80's 4AD catalog would do
well to take a listen.
3. Black Lodge is putting on a "Valentine's Day Black Prom" event that features a headliner called Duke Ballsworthy and his Band, which the space describes as "playing all the crooner hits your grandmother lost her virginity to". Should be interesting.
