To start with, let me say that Barboza is the place to be this week--whether you see the Arbutus Records showcase on the 26th (Arbutus released Grimes' early records before she signed with 4AD), Ducktails with Mark McGuire on the 28th (Mondanile is also in Real Estate and McGuire was in Emeralds), or the fabled Shawn Reed of Night People records as part of Wet Hair on the 30th, you can't go wrong. Other shows of note: Nor-Cal garage titan, Ty Segall, is coming to the Black Lodge with his new band, Fuzz; unfortunately, they will be playing at the same time that Texas' Pure X will be melting the Rendezvous with reverb-drenched pop music. English folk/soul up-and-comer, Lianne La Haves, is going to be at the Crocodile; Week of Wonders will be christening Atlas Clothing in Fremont; Vox Mod is celebrating the release of their new record at Vermillion, and CT PAK's Justin Timbreline and Moose Portrait will be taking over the Glitterbox. 

However, we will not be at any of these shows because we're going to Oahu for the week. I don't expect anyone to feel bad for me, but if anyone gets any cool pictures, tweet them to us @ngdseattle so I can live vicariously through you. Have a great week!
