*Updated 2/16* Upcoming Seattle Shows

We're a little tardy this week, but hey, better late than never, right?

You may or may not have heard that the Pixies show with Best Coast is sold out; it's a bummer, but we've got more than a few suggestions that will yield far more for far less. Instead, garage/pop-punk lovers should turn out that night at The Tractor Tavern for the Mikal Cronin show.  Other shows: don't miss prolific DIY recording pioneer R. Stevie Moore with Chastity Belt at Chop Suey the following night (and check out Moore's cover of "Seattle Party"here); the long-running, but fragmented remains of UK ska-punk vets The Beat as The English Beat at the Showbox on Friday; and Sun Kil Moon the same night over at Neptune in support of their critically lauded new effort 'Benji'.

Local stuff: Dial Up is really starting to swell; find out why this Wednesday night with DJ sets by Esta, The Whooligan, and NGD favorite, Dutty Wilderness. If you have ever though a single, positive thought about dream-pop or shoegaze you should definitely check out the Jetman Jet Team show at the Lo-Fi on Thursday; however, that MTNs, Health Problems show at Waid's looks freakin amazing as well for fans of experimental hardcore. Gems and Industrial revelation are staging a synth extravaganza at the Lo-Fi on Friday (maybe we can finally get our hands on one of those sweet new Gems trucker hats?), and local doomgazers He Whose Ox is Gored are preforming with venerated experimental rock act Thrones (aka Joe Preston) at Black Lodge on Saturday. Finally, what is Kremwerk? Seems that a new spot is opening up near Re-bar and if you're into techno you should definitely head down to see Bryan Zentz this Friday.

All this and more below. Have a great week!
